Shiseido’s discovery on eyelash growth
Shiseido has found an ingredient that helps eyelashes grow longer : Zizyphus Jujuba fruit extract promotes the growth rate of eyelashes
The Shiseido Research Centre has been specifically and intensively studying lashes. Through this research, it was discovered that the length of eyelashes is dependent on their growth rate. This led Shiseido to pursue more research, to find the cosmetic ingredient that supports beautiful lashes.
Shiseido found that Zizyphus Jujuba fruit extract* is highly effective at helping eyelashes grow longer through promoting their growth rate.
These research results had been reported at the 13th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Anti-Ageing Medicine in Yokohama, June 28 to 30, 2013.
Shiseido’s research: lash growth
Every kind of hair has its own time frame.
While the mechanism behind hair growth cycle is exactly the same for lashes, scalp hair, and body hair, Shiseido’s research shows that the length of the hair life cycle for lashes is extremely short – just 4 months. The growth phase is also very short, only lasting 39 days.
After examining more than 250 women’s eyelashes, Shiseido researchers concluded that the length of eyelashes is highly dependent on their growth rate.
