How to use
To continuously ensure a proper level of protection, reapply frequently and generously the suncare product (at least every two hours), also after having sweated, bathed and dried your skin with a towel.
Reducing the quantity of application will lower the level of
protection significantly.
Do not stay in the sun for too long, even if you are using sunscreen.
Excessive exposure to sunlight represents a serious health risk.
Avoid exposing small children directly to the sun.
Try to avoid sun exposure during the hottest parts of the day.
Avoid any contact with your eyes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
Flammable
TO USE

• Avoid using chlorine bleach as formula will turn pink in color.
• Prevent contact with furniture, nails and leather goods as formula may cause colors to fade or damage the fabric.
• After use, wipe the mouth of the container clean and close the cap properly.

Expert Sun Protector Lotion Sensitive SPF50+ FAQ
You should reapply sunscreen every 2 hours during sun exposure. Reapply more often after swimming, sweating, or towel drying, even if the product is water-resistant. No sunscreen provides all-day protection, so regular reapplication is essential.
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. It measures how well a sunscreen helps protect the skin against UVB rays, which are mainly responsible for sunburn. A higher SPF means a higher level of UVB protection, but it does not mean you can stay in the sun longer without reapplying.
Shiseido Suncare products have been tested under dermatological control and are non-comedogenic.
For sensitive skin, choose a sunscreen that is gentle, high-protection, and specifically tested on sensitive skin. Within Shiseido Suncare, we recommend Expert Sun Protector Lotion Sensitive SPF50+ because it is formulated with 85% skincare ingredients, alcohol-free, fragrance-free, and tested on sensitive skin and children’s skin. It is suitable for the whole family from 6 months and older.
UVA and UVB rays affect the skin differently. UVA rays penetrate more deeply into the skin and are mainly associated with photoageing, such as wrinkles and loss of firmness. UVB rays act more on the skin’s surface and are the main cause of sunburn. Both UVA and UVB contribute to long-term skin damage, which is why broad-spectrum sun protection is important.
The MARE Project, which stands for Marine Adventure for Research & Education, is a marine research and awareness initiative supported by Shiseido in Europe. It focuses on helping protect marine biodiversity and raising awareness about ocean preservation. Through this initiative, Shiseido supports a broader approach to long-term environmental engagement.
Shiseido takes ocean impact into account when developing its suncare products. Studies conducted by the brand found no significant impact from the UV filters used in its blue suncare line on corals under the tested conditions*. In addition, the formulas are designed to be water-resistant, which helps limit product dispersion in water. Shiseido also supports the MARE Project, which contributes to marine biodiversity research and education.
*An initial evaluation was conducted in partnership with the University of Science of Ryukyu (Japan) to assess the direct impact of each UV filter used in Shiseido’s Expert Sun Protector range on corals, carefully collected after special authorization from the governor of Okinawa Prefecture. A second evaluation was conducted in silico to assess the impact of the water-resistant protective care in the worst-case oceanic elution scenario, using Tokyo Bay in mid-summer as a model
Yes, sunscreen is important for all skin tones. Darker or already tanned skin may be less likely to burn quickly, but it is still exposed to UV-related damage such as photoageing, dark spots, and other long-term effects. Daily sun protection remains essential, especially during intense or prolonged sun exposure.
Yes, you may still tan while wearing sunscreen because no sunscreen blocks 100% of UV rays. Sunscreen helps protect the skin against sunburn and long-term UV damage while reducing overall exposure. That means it supports a more controlled exposure to the sun, but regular protection remains essential.
For children, choose a sunscreen with very high protection that is specifically tested for young skin. Shiseido Expert Sun Protector Lotion Sensitive SPF50+ has been tested under pediatric and dermatological supervision and is suitable for the whole family, including babies and children from 6 months. Children under 3 years old should not be directly exposed to the sun, and sunscreen should not be used on babies under 6 months.
